Mongolia and Latvia sign aviation relations agreement
State Secretary of the Ministry of Road and Transport Development of Mongolia S. Batbold and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Andris Pelšs signed an Agreement
State Secretary of the Ministry of Road and Transport Development of Mongolia S. Batbold and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Andris Pelšs signed an Agreement on Aviation Relations between the governments of Mongolia and Latvia on June 5. The agreement creates opportunities to conduct direct flights and develop tourism, allowing Mongolians and foreigners living in Latvia and Northern Europe to fly affordably to Mongolia. Additionally, Mongolian air carriers will be able to open new flight routes to Northern European countries and expand their flight network under codeshare principles. Furthermore, this will significantly support the development of trade and economic relations and cooperation between the two countries. Mongolia and Latvia established diplomatic relations in 1991, and the trade turnover between the two countries is $2.3 million. The number of international flight routes and frequencies departing Mongolia has grown to serve 156 destinations in 45 countries.
