Mongolia to Partner with UNICEF for Digital Transformation in Healthcare Sector
Minister of Digital Development and Communications of Mongolia Uchral Nyam-Osor and UNICEF Representative to Mongolia Evariste Kouassi-Komlan
Minister of Digital Development and Communications of Mongolia Uchral Nyam-Osor and UNICEF Representative to Mongolia Evariste Kouassi-Komlan signed the plan for the country program 2023-2027 on February 22, 2024. One of the program's five key initiatives will focus on supporting digital transformation (e-transition) in the healthcare sector. It will involve shifting key documents, such as prenatal care records, outpatient medical records, insurance information, prescriptions, imaging results, and appointment bookings/vaccination records, to electronic formats. The transition of seven paper services to digital will streamline processes, reduce costs, and alleviate the burden on hospitals. The e-Leaders project is also included in the plan to enhance the public e-skills. Aligning with the policy of fostering universal digital literacy, these efforts will focus on implementing programs in health, education, and child protection. UNICEF will fund USD 670 thousand to programs dedicated to health, education, and child protection sectors in Mongolia.
