Construction of National Library's new building completed in Mongolia
The construction of a new building for the National Library of Mongolia, which has been ongoing since 2014 in the 7th subdistrict of Sukhbaatar district of the capital, has been completed.
The construction of a new building for the National Library of Mongolia, which has been ongoing since 2014 in the 7th subdistrict of Sukhbaatar district of the capital, has been completed. The new building of the library will be located on 11 floors. The total area of three blocks is 10,000 square meters. The first three floors will house 16 reading rooms, including those for people with disabilities, young children and their parents. The building will now allow serving 530 people at a time. The library will be commissioned in April 2024. The building of the national library in the city center handed over to a library of Mongolian studies and a center for the restoration and digitization of handwritten books, the collection of which amounts to more than 1 million copies.
