President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia Kobayashi Hiroyuki on November 20, 2023, upon the completion of his term in Mongolia. The two sides noted the agreement of upgrading the Mongolia-Japan Strategic Partnership to a Special Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity, as a result of the President's State Visit to Japan on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Japan and Mongolia. President Khurelsukh commended Ambassador Kobayashi's active efforts and valuable contribution to advancing Mongolia-Japan relations and cooperation during his tenure in Mongolia. Ambassador Kobayashi noted the remarkable progress made in relations and cooperation between the two countries in recent years and expressed his commitment to further development of relations between the two countries in all areas. President Khurelsukh awarded Ambassador Kobayashi Hiroyuki the Order of the Polar Star in recognition of his contribution to strengthening relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Japan and developing an action program of the Special Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity. Ambassador Hiroyuki Kobayashi expressed his sincere gratitude to the Mongolian government and the people of Mongolia for their support during his tenure in Mongolia.
