Mongolia commemorated the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repression on September 10. According to data, about 40,000 people were subjected to repression in Mongolia. Commemoration ceremonies are organized throughout the country on this day, at which citizens pay tribute to the memory of people who have been victims of political repression since 1937. The country adopted a law on the rehabilitation of victims of political repression and compensations to them in 1998. The court has examined more than 10,000 cases and acquitted nearly 31,500 people convicted of politically motivated crimes.
