Western Khovd Province Plants 300 Thousand Trees
Under the "One Billion Trees" National Campaign initiated by Mr. Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, President of Mongolia, Khovd province has planted 300 thousand trees in the past two years.
Under the "One Billion Trees" National Campaign initiated by Mr. Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, President of Mongolia, Khovd province has planted 300 thousand trees in the past two years. The Department of Environment and Tourism of Khovd province has reported, "This spring we have planted more than 25 thousand trees throughout the province." Furthermore, Bulgan sub-province of this province has gained recognition in Mongolia for having the most fruit trees, planting the highest number of fruit trees in the province, which totals 70 thousand. Each year, enterprises and citizens of the Bulgan sub-province supply over 20 thousand seedlings and saplings of fruit trees to the market. There are 12 fruit farms and 300 households engaged in fruit tree cultivation in the sub-province. Last year, these efforts resulted in a harvest of 60 tons of fruits.
