Cooperation with UNDP Discussed
State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs met with the Deputy Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific of the United Nations Development Program on the 4th of this month.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs met with the Deputy Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific of the United Nations Development Program on the 4th of this month. The parties exchanged views on the cooperation between Mongolia and the United Nations Development Program or UNDP, including the priority areas of cooperation for the next five years, and the ongoing projects and activities. Specifically, in 2023-2027 Mongolia will attach primary significance in cooperation with the UNDP to several directions such as green economy transition, sustainable ecosystem management, and also women's equality. During the meeting, the State Secretary presented suggestions on the projects implemented in Mongolia by the UNDP and improving their benefits. He emphasized that during the visit of the UN Secretary-General to Mongolia in 2022 it was agreed to further expand Mongolia-UN development cooperation and take it to a new level, and expressed his confidence that the UNDP would make a significant contribution in this regard. UNDP Deputy Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific stressed that the UNDP attaches great importance to its cooperation with Mongolia. He expressed his satisfaction with the effective cooperation in many directions such as promoting sustainable development, combating climate change, ensuring gender equality, and strengthening the civil service, and he affirmed to continue its support in the future.
