Mongolian contortionists performed at the opening event of the NBA regular season game between Golden State Warriors and Atlanta Hawks on the 2nd of this month.
Mongolian contortionists performed at the opening event of the NBA regular season game between Golden State Warriors and Atlanta Hawks on the 2nd of this month. Mrs. Urgamaltsetseg, Mongolia’s Consul General to San Francisco, started the game by ringing the bell. Over 200 Mongolians who participated in this NBA game opening presented their national culture and costume. Most interestingly, 2.4 million people watched the live broadcast of the performance on NBA television. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, the Consulate General of Mongolia in San Francisco, and the Bay Area Mongolian Community jointly organized this performance to promote Mongolian art and culture through basketball. In addition, the Golden State Warriors organizes the “Asian Heritage Night” annually to show respect to Asians living in California. To that extent, Mongolians took part in this year’s event.
