The Mongolian University of Life Sciences and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Mongolia jointly organized the `Agroecology-Sustainable Agriculture` international scientific conference in the framework of the European Union funded `Sustainable Resilient Ecosystem and Agriculture Management in Mongolia` (STREAM) project implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations or FAO on November 8th in Ulaanbaatar city. The conference aimed to create opportunities to solve the facing issues scientifically, develop cooperation, and exchange experiences on the implementation of basic principles of agroecology and sustainable development, as well as achievements, successes, and good practices in the fields of social, economic, agriculture, animal husbandry, forestry and crop research. Furthermore, the conference was attended by international speakers including FAO Asia and the Pacific region, the University of Warsaw, and the University of Agriculture in Krakow, and shared knowledge and experiences at the international and national levels of agroecology. The STREAM project aims to develop a benchmark value-added chain based on agroecological principles in Mongolia. Agroecology plays a significant role in combating climate change and improving food safety. The main mission of agroecology is to improve the relationship between plants, animals, people, and the environment by coordinating the food and agricultural systems with social and ecological principles.
