International project to protect Przewalski's horse to continue
The Minister of Environment and Tourism met with the president of International Takhi Group or ITG.
The Minister of Environment and Tourism met with the president of the International Takhi Group or ITG. At the meeting, the representatives of the International Takhi Group expressed their wishes to continuation of the previous project in Mongolia. Also, ITG has started preparation works to implement new takhi or Przewalski's horse project in the western provinces of Khovd and Gobi-Altai in September. Representatives of ITG said that we focus on the effective implementation of a new project with the previous project in Mongolia. In 2020, the government of Mongolia decided to take some 411 thousand lands around Khomiin Tal national park under state protection to protect the Przewalski horses inhabits which has been increasing year by year. After that, the number of animals that lives in the Khomiin Tal has increased, and the inhabits has fully protected. Currently, more than 1000 takhi or Przewalski's horses live in their homeland, that was almost endangered since 1960.
