Global youth gather to empowering their digital engagement
“The Generation Connect Global Youth Summit 2022” was organized in Kigali, Rwanda on 2 – 4 June, 2022 by the ITU as part of its World Telecommunication Development Conference.
“The Generation Connect Global Youth Summit 2022” was organized in Kigali, Rwanda on 2 – 4 June, 2022 by the ITU as part of its World Telecommunication Development Conference which is being held on 6-16 June in the country. At the summit, Mongolia was represented by two female journalists from Mongolian National Broadcaster and local “UB life” website who are the participants of AIBD, ITU and USAID Fellowship Program. The summit was first ever themed “Shaping a safe, inclusive digital future together – leaving no young people behind” and in a hybrid format, with physical participation, as well as virtual youth engagement. It was around 4800 young people were followed the Summit from over 70 hubs from 53 countries. Available for 15 to 29 year-old from around the world, the Summit aims to engage global youth on the big issues of digital transformation, encourage young people to participate as equal partners with today’s leaders of digital change and empower youth with skills and opportunities to build their vision of a safe, inclusive connected future. “The Generation Connect Global Youth Summit 2022” brought together young leaders, entrepreneurs, social change-makers, engineers, policy specialists, students, and others. Furthermore, “The Generation Connect Global Youth Summit 2022” recognized the role of digital natives as leaders of the rapidly changing technological environment and of our future.
