Minister for Foreign Affairs participating in 77th session of UNESCAP
Her Excellency B.Battsetseg, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, participated in the general debate of the 77th session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, and delivered a statement on the theme topic “Building back better from crises through regional cooperation in Asia and the Pacific”.
Minister for Foreign Affairs B.Battsetseg gave a detailed presentation on the measures taken by the Government of Mongolia to protect the health of the population and ensure access to immunization during the Covid-19 pandemic, and strengthen the social protection of citizens during the crisis. Moreover, she noted that as a landlocked developing country Mongolia issues related to regional integration, including improving transport and infrastructure connectivity, remain to be solved, despite efforts by the Government to recover the economy and increase access to social protection in all sectors of society.
His Excellency A.Tumur, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the UNESCAP, serves as the Vice-chair of the 77th session of the Commission.
