'All for YOUth, YOUth for all' project training held on 'How to convert your traditional business to online'
Businesses and young entrepreneurs have been exposed to the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and it is challenging for the business community to survive with lockdowns, reduced revenues, and other issues. Businesses are confronted with less customer interaction and stricter lockdowns in place. Therefore, small and mediums businesses (SMEs) have to adapt their business models to react better to this new changing environment.
The “All for YOUth, YOUth for all” project, funded by the European Union and supported by the Asia Foundation Mongolia, is organizing the ‘How to convert your traditional business to online’ online training for young entrepreneurs, and small and medium-sized entrepreneurs (SMEs) on 31 March 2021.
Through this online training, the project aims to promote youth employment and entrepreneurship, while empowering young people in this unprecedented period of time. Different trainers will share their know-how and tips on innovative ways of thriving their business, freelancing, and profit-making opportunities using online platforms and IT-based solutions. This training consists of sessions on digital marketing trends, digital transformation, start-up fundraising, design thinking, sales through IT-based solutions. The online training event also includes a session where successful business people will share their tips on how they successfully adopted IT solutions to their businesses, which will also be followed up by a networking session.
“Youth employment and entrepreneurship are one of the main pillars of sustainable development in Mongolia. The European Union remains committed to continue supporting decent employment opportunities and to keep youth at the center of all our interventions, from access to employment, youth entrepreneurship, the realization of human rights, study opportunities, to active engagement in civic life. Meaningful youth participation and youth playing an active role in their communities are key to contribute to governance and development process in Mongolia” emphasized the EU Ambassador to Mongolia, H.E. Traian Hristea.
“To introduce a new culture to the local people of Selenge province, we opened The Angel coffee house in 2019, and we offer coffee, vegan food, and bakery. Initially, our business continued to operate efficiently and smoothly, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic has been unable to run sustainably. I sincerely hope that by participating in this “Converting your traditional business to online for young entrepreneurs” training, I will be skilled to redesign my business and find solutions to the problems our business-facing, such as how to do social media marketing and manage delivery services properly” said N. Gantuya, Director of The Angel coffee house in Selenge province, one of the training participant.
This online training is taking place in the framework of the “All for YOUth, YOUth for all” project that aims to improve NGO capacities, increase youth employment and entrepreneurship, promote civic participation amongst young people, and promote youth volunteerism in Mongolia.
Funded by the European Union and supported by the Asia Foundation Mongolia, the Caritas Czech Republic is implementing the project “All for YOUth, YOUth for all”, along with two project partners – the Mongolian Youth Center and Center of Citizenship Education –in Ulaanbaatar City and Selenge, Khentii, Dornogovi, and Bayankhongor aimags.
