Erdenes-Tavantolgoi JSC award scholarships to 90 students

On October 28, 2020, 90 students who will be enrolled in the tuition scholarship program of “Erdenes-Tavantolgoi” JSC for the 2020-2021 academic year received their certificates.

60 of these students are from South Gobi province and received scholarships regardless of their major. The remaining 30 students are second to fourth-year tertiary students from national universities and colleges, enrolled in mining technology, geology, mining management, surveying, mineral processing technology, mining machinery, and equipment, mining electrical equipment, agronomy, soil science, geochemistry, forestry engineering, studying ecology, conservation, environmental rehabilitation, and electrical engineering with a grade point average of 3.2 or higher.  The ceremony was held at the Ministry of Education and Science and was attended by Minister of Education and Science Tsedevsuren L, CEO of “Erdenes-Tavantolgoi” JSC Gankhuyag B, officials and scientists from the National University of Mongolia, the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, and the University of Agriculture. During the ceremony, Minister of Education and Science Tsedevsuren thanked “Erdenes-Tavantolgoi” JSC for recognizing its social responsibility and providing scholarships to students majoring in mining, agriculture, and natural sciences. CEO of “Erdenes-Tavantolgoi” JSC Gankhuyag B, said, “It has been 7 years since we started awarding this scholarship. In the next 40-60 years, Mongolia's great development will take place at the Tavan Tolgoi deposit in Southgobi province. Our team is launching and implementing this program, believing that the young people involved in this development need to be invested from early on.  We plan to expand the program and increase the amount in the coming years.” “Erdenes-Tavantolgoi” JSC has been providing scholarships to students from South Gobi province since 2013 and has been announcing and implementing scholarship programs nationwide since last academic year. During this time, around 350 students in total received tuition assistance.
