Training on human rights reporting held

In collaboration with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs organized a training themed ‘Database on human rights reporting to international human rights mechanisms and monitoring implementation of the national guidance’ at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Government of Mongolia will introduce the third national report on human rights situation in Mongolia to the UN Human Rights Council in 2020 alongside submitting regular reports on implementation of Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance, Convention against Torture and Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to the United Nation Committee between 2019 and 2020. Therefore, the aim of the training targeted at strengthening the capacity of officers of the ministries and agencies that are responsible for organizing works for ensuring the implementation of the treaties and formulating reports. The training is significant to improve inter- sectoral coherence and coordination within ensuring the implementation of guidance given by human rights treaty bodies.
