Mongolian and Taiwanese artists’ joint project ongoing
At the opening artists Ganzug.S and Davaajargal.Ts worshipped the mountains surrounding Taipei city and interacted mountains with their movements and sounds.
The ‘Outsiders Factory’ artists group from Taiwan and Mongolian Contemporary Art Support Association started a joint project titled ‘Mainland and Island’. A joint exhibition of 11 artists opened at the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts in Taipei. Six Mongolian artists displayed their works at the exhibition. At the opening artists Ganzug.S and Davaajargal.Ts worshipped the mountains surrounding Taipei city and interacted mountains with their movements and sounds. ‘Mainland and Island’ project intends to create opportunity for dialogue about social, economic and political relations related to the exploitation of natural resources and its impact on environment and humanity through the contemporary art. Takamari Nobuo from Japan, Badamgarav Gantuya from Mongolia and Chang Shie Wang from Taiwan worked as curators of the exhibition. Within the framework of the project, the artists will participate in the residence program in Taiwan and Mongolia and exhibit a joint exhibition at the Art Space 976 in Ulaanbaatar in October.
