‘The Lemons’, Mongolian four-member Mongolian Rock released their album ‘Red’ in vinyl issuing 500 vinyl pieces. The latest vinyl record of Mongolian artists was produced in former USSR or Russia in 1984. Since then, another Mongolian rock band formed in 1987, ‘Khurd’ released a golden vinyl celebrating its 29th anniversary in 2013. The Lemons lead singer Odbayar.Ts said that the idea of releasing the vinyl came to the band last year. “A vinyl record has a wider format with grooves carved into it that mirrors the original sound's waveform and reflecting the rich sound, while the CDs don’t capture the complete sound wave. We believe that the vinyl release will contribute to the process of putting Mongolia on the world stage. We planned to release vinyl versions of all our albums in the future,” he said. The opening concert of their vinyl album was held last Saturday. The vinyl record will be available for sale at the concert with a discounted price of MNT 69 thousand, which is over USD 28.
