Mongolian artists' works selected in semi-final of international exhibition

Oil paintwork titled ‘Edelweiss’ by teacher of the Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture Baatarsuren.D and several works by his student Tergel.T have been selected in the semi-final of the 23rd Da Dun Fine Arts Exhibition of Taichung City, one of the most significant international exhibitions organized by the Taiwanese Government. The first stage selection was held on May 6, selecting more than 200 works among 1390 works by among artists from over 40 countries. Among the selected works, 40 oil paint works and eight cartoon works and two works were summited from Mongolia. Head of the Representative Office of Taiwan in Mongolia Huang Kuo Jung said "To be selected in the semi-final is like winning a prize. I had no doubt that Mongolian artists would be selected in the semi-final because Mongolia has a rich cultural heritage. Nomadic culture, lifestyle, and tradition are what makes the development of Mongolian culture distinctive from others. The winners will be announced in late May.
