The second consultative meeting of Mongolia-U.S Economic Policy Dialogue took place in Washington, DC. Minister of Foreign Affairs Tsogtbaatar Damdin led Mongolian part while US State Department - Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs Brian McFeeters headed U.S part. At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on wide range of issues on economic ties including United States’ strategy on Indo-Pacific Ocean, Mongolian macroeconomic reform, investment environment and trade promotion, legal advice, export diversification of Mongolian goods and service, backing small and medium enterprises, investment in private sector, health and social welfare, renewable energy and the environment. The sides also discussed a plan for developing a roadmap in order to expand bilateral economic ties. In addition, the parties welcomed the conclusion of official talks between the Government of Mongolia and the Millennium Challenge Corporation on Second Compact Agreement. The parts also agreed to organize a bilateral ‘Trade and Investment Framework Agreement Meeting’ again in the near future.
