Mongolia to work diversifying exports of commodities and goods to Europe. EU TRAM project launch took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The main objective of the project is to help businesses manufacture products that meet European standards. The project will be implemented from 2018 to 2020 with 5 million EUR in funding. State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Davaasuren D said, “The project will target three main outcomes. First, it will be helpful to make effective policy changes in foreign trade. Second, the project will facilitate foreign trade, and lastly, export diversification will occur. Mongolia has been given special permission to trade 7,200 goods and commodities to the EU market with tariff reductions. However, only 10 different products, mostly wool, cashmere and leather goods are now being exported to EU countries."
