Mongolia meets EITI Standard requirements
The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative reported that Mongolia has become the second country to meet all the requirements of the EITI Standard.
The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), which promotes the open and accountable management of oil, gas and mineral resources, reported that Mongolia has become the second country to meet all the requirements of the EITI Standard. Mongolia joined the EITI in 2006. The EITI's validation program is an essential feature of the EITI process, and assesses performance, promotes dialogue and learning at the country level, and safeguards the integrity of the EITI by holding countries to global standards. It is conducted every three to five years.
