Mongolian movie ‘Insane mother’ to be released in South Korea
The Mongolian movie “Insane mother”, which smashed the Mongolian box office since its premiere on December 29, will be screened in Seoul and Busan.
The Mongolian movie “Insane mother”, which smashed the Mongolian box office since its premiere on December 29, will be screened in Seoul and Busan, South Korea from January 27-30. Based on the Chinese novel by Wang Heng Ji, the movie depicts a poor, insane woman named Nomuun living in the early 1900s. She happens to meet a rather fierce-looking, childless man whose mother desperate for a grandchild made Nomuun carry the man’s child yet not allowing the mother nurse the baby and other conflicts resulting from the insane mother and her child. The director and star of the movie is State Merited Artist Odonchimeg.I, and was co-produced by her peer N.Onon. According to the movie makers, ‘Insane mother’ was aimed to demonstrate the human nature, contrast of rich and poor, the value of life and most importantly the pure motherly love.
