FAO to cooperate in protecting livestock health
Minister also requested FAO to increase financing for the technical assistance projects, to broaden the cooperation and to launch the third stage of South-South Cooperation Program.
During his attendance at the 10th Berlin Agriculture Ministers’ Conference and International Green Week Berlin in German, Minister Batzorig.B met Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) José Graziano da Silva. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Light Industry had submitted the proposals to FAO in Mongolia to realize technical assistance projects in food safety, animal husbandry and farming in 2018-2019. Furthermore, within the framework of the trilateral agreement between Mongolia, FAO and Government of China, the first and second stages of South-South Cooperation Program have been successfully implemented in Mongolia and the FAO is expected to cooperate to launch the third stage of the project. At the meeting, the Minister noted that 13 technical assistance projects, worth about USD 14 million, have been implemented in agricultural sphere since 2014 within the Country Programming Framework for Cooperation and Partnership between FAO and the Government of Mongolia. Moreover, Minister also requested to increase financing for the technical assistance projects, to broaden the cooperation and to launch the third stage of South-South Cooperation Program.
