Second Mongolian eagle huntress documentary to be filmed
12-year-old eagle huntress A.Aigerim has agreed to be filmed in a documentary.
In 2013, “Eagle huntress” documentary film based on the true story of thirteen-year-old brave girl, Aisholpan who made history by winning the first place in the Eagle Festival was launched. That incident helped promote gender equivalence in the northern province of Bayan-Ulgii where the largest ethnic minority people of Khazakh live. When Singaporean photographers recently came to Altai subprovince of Bayan-Ulgii they shot photos about the lifestyle of eagle hunters and culture of hunting with eagles which are going to be displayed in international exhibitions. They also visited family of a 12-year old eagle huntress A.Aigerim, 7th grade student of the secondary school. Her father has been training A.Aigerim in eagle hunting since she was eight. Notably they have agreed with the eagle huntress and her parents to come back next June with 28-person team to shoot a documentary about her. Currently, there are over 10 girls in the province, who hunt with eagle and compete in eagle hunting festivals.
