Mongolian opera singer wins second place at International Opera Competition
Singer E. Ankhbayar successfully won second place in fifth Otto Edelmann International Singing Competition held in Vienna, Austria.
Mongolian singer E. Ankhbayar successfully won the second place in the fifth Otto Edelmann International Singing Competition held in Vienna, Austria. The competition was attended by 140 opera singers from 39 countries. It is reported to focus on outstandingly talented young opera singers under the age of 31 from all over the world. Prior to this prize, E.Ankhbayar claimed the First Prize at the second Eva Marton International competition in Budapest, Hungary past year. Moreover he participated in the 10th L. Linkhovoin Competition in which he won the Best Voice award and the Grand Prize in 2011 and was also granted first prize at the Bibigul Tulegenova International Opera Competition. Additionally he has performed in some of the biggest operas in the world such as ‘Eugene Onegin’ by P.I.Tchaikovsky, ‘Don Giovanni’ by W.A.Mozart, ‘Carmen’ by Georges Bizet, ‘Traviata’ by Giuseppe Verdi, ‘Bohema’ by Giacomo Puccini and famous Mongolian operas of ‘Three Dramatic Characters’ by B.Damdinsuren and ‘Chinggis Khaan’ by B.Sharav.
