More than 11 thousand Mongolian soldiers are involved in UN peace keeping operations.
More than 11 thousand Mongolian soldiers are involved in UN peace keeping operations. They are serving as UN soldiers, military observers, advisers, staff and communications officers in Congo, Western Sahara, Afghanistan, South Sudan and Abyei (on the Sudanese border). Mongolia will send its VII shift battalion to UNMISS in South Sudan and the IX shift battalion to UNАMID in Darfur, Sudan.
