Electric cars exempted from license plate limitation and road charges

Ulaanbaatar City Governor S.Batbold issued a decree to exempt electric battery-powered vehicles from even-odd license plate limitation and road user charges. Accordingly, sufficient numbers of charging infrastructures for electric vehicles will be established in further. There are 74 electric vehicles counted in Ulaanbaatar city, of which 61 of them are private and state-owned trolleybuses while remaining 13 of them are small trucks and passenger cars. Vehicles contribute 10 percent of air pollution of Ulaanbaatar capital city. The emissions from automobiles contain ethyl lead, carbon dioxide, dioxide, sulfuric gas, soot, and cadmium and aldehyde benzopyrene dioxin. Professional organizations recommend that the city should fight against the air pollution by not only taking measures to reduce smoke from peri-urban ger areas but also concern the emissions from vehicles. City Governor noted that a lot of works which are aimed to save consumer spending and promote green products will be done in the future within the framework of creating Eco Ulaanbaatar.
