Approximately 20 percent of crops in Northern Selenge and 50 percent in central Tuv provinces have been lost this summer due to the extreme drought according to the statement by P.Sergelen, Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industries. Thereby, the Mongolia is to import 400 tonnes of wheat from Russia at discount rates. In total, the country needs to import 170 thousand tonnes of wheat this year to meet demand.
