Annual Yak Festival was held. It was launched by a 20-minutes yak racing, one of the world’s slowest mounted racing. The Yak Festival is one of the most important festivals in Mongolia and is held every year in central Mongolian province of Uvurkhangai. The activities of the festival included rodeos, milking competitions, beauty contest, polo on yak back, and races. Mongolia has the second highest yak population in the world after Tibet. The yak has a great value for nomadic breeders in Mongolia, primarily for their milk, skin, and meat. The domesticated wild animal is mostly used for ploughing and threshing. Its wool is used for making clothes, and their dung is used for fuel by their domesticators.
