Mongolia-Kuwait Intergovernmental commission launched. The first meeting of Mongolian-Kuwait Intergovernmental Commission was held in Kuwait. The meeting touched upon the development of economic cooperation between the two countries, issues of investment and nonrefundable aid, implementation of joint projects and development of cooperation in the culture and media sector. The parties agreed to increase investment and expand cooperation between private businesses. The Mongolian part requested support from Kuwait to implement some projects, including the construction of a building of the National Central Library and paving of the landing strip of Undurkhaan Airport with asphalt. The Kuwaiti part informed that they are studying a Mongolian proposal on protocol on veterinary, hygienic and quarantine requirements for exports of meat and live animal from Mongolia to Kuwait and establishing a cooperation document between standards organizations of the two countries. The parties agreed on cooperation in the media sector, in part, agreed to organize study tours and take measures to mutually promote culture and traditions of the two countries. The Kuwaiti part proposed to establish a cooperation program in the culture sector and handed over a draft document. The Mongolian side also suggested importing crude oil from Kuwait and processing it in Mongolia, training professionals in the petroleum industry in Kuwait and including Mongolia in its oil supply schedule starting 2018.
