The concert commemorated the 25th anniversary of Mongolian State Morin Khuur Ensemble which was established in 1992 to represent Mongolia’s traditional music to the world.

The concert commemorated the 25th anniversary of Mongolian State Morin Khuur Ensemble which was established in 1992 to represent Mongolia’s traditional music to the world. Demonstrating the professionalism and shining talent of the Morin Khuur players, the concert is one of some special concerts the ensemble presents this year. Every composition which was played at the ‘Novel Melody’ concert was new to the ears of the Morin Khuur fans such as the music by Ryuichi Sakamoto, Claude Debussy, Manuel Ponce, Gabriel Faure and Mongolian composer T.Purevsukh. By the way the traditional Mongolian musical instrument Morin Khuur is to be taught at Franz Schubert Conservatory based in Vienna, Austria. Not only can international students at the Franz Schubert Conservatoire learn how to play the Mongolian Morin Khuur in Austria, they will also learn about Mongolian culture and music, told Morin Khuur player at Music and Dance College of Mongolia B.Sanjaajav who formalized the introduction of the Morin Khuur course. It is the first time a Mongolian Morin Khuur program is introduced to a foreign conservatoire.
