Mongolia plans to export 16-40 tons of gold in next decade. It was told at the recent Mongolia Gold 2017 Conference and Exhibition. The conference discussed a wide range of issues connected with the gold mining sector and plans to set goals for seeking ways to improve and stabilize the legal environment for gold mining. There were also considered solutions to the financial concerns of recent years and in this scope the conference introduced gold projects to investors including a “Gold-2” project, which was approved as a key part of the raft of measures to revive the national economy. The project aims to increase gold production by two to three tonnes annually, leading to an annual production target of 25 tons by 2020. Thus Mongolia’s gold export is forecast to reach 16 to 40 tonnes in the coming ten years.
