Automobile imports increased by 1.7 percent in 2016 compared to that of previous year. A total of 37 thousand and 738 automobiles were imported to Mongolia last year.

A total of 37 thousand and 738 automobiles were imported to Mongolia last year. 85 percent of the total imported cars came from Japan, while German cars make up 7.0 percent S.Korean cars – 3.6 percent. In 2016, Mongolia imported automobiles from 24 countries. On the other hand, the import of trucks decreased by 12.2 percent, going down to 6,835 trucks. The majority of imported trucks are supplied from China and South Korea.
