National Folk Song and Dance Ensemble becomes Grand Theatre. Developed into a grand theatre, the National Folk song and Dance Ensemble would walk in line with other global organizations by having the same legal status and it would have opened up wider opportunities for artists by promoting many different genres of ethnic folklores of Mongolia, exploiting repertoire fully and advancing its foreign relations and cooperation. The National Folk Song and Dance Ensemble has a long history of more than 70 years. Established in 1945 with 62 singers, musicians and dancers, the ensemble has nowadays more than 190 artistes.
