Ulaanbaatar International film festival was held.
Ulaanbaatar International film festival was held. This year's festival opened with a documentary ‘Zud’ by Polish director Marta Minorowicz. The award-winning film tells the story how an 11-year old Mongolian boy called gives up school to help his family after their livestock is killed during a harsh winter disaster called the 'zud.' The boy’s father tasks him with taming a wild horse with which he enters the race of his life. Ms. Minorowicz is an acclaimed director and graduate of the Andrzey Wajda Film School and the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. The Ulaanbaatar film festival featured a number of award-winning movies from the Berlin film festival and some other internationally acclaimed films. The festival also provided a venue for directors and artists to share their ideas about film making.
