Mongolia seeks IMF support to revive economy. Mongolian authorities are in Washington to attend the annual meetings of the IMF and the World Bank. They are having discussions with the IMF and have made an official request for financial assistance from the IMF to address balance of payments pressures and stabilize the local economy. An IMF team led by Mission Chief for Mongolia Koshy Mathai is scheduled to visit Mongolia’s capital Ulaanbaatar in late this month to continue discussions.
