UN Mongolia provides training support for ASEM11 volunteers. Three qualified Mongolian UN volunteers from FAO, UNICEF, and UNDP have been placed at the ASEM11 Volunteer Station and have been providing volunteer management, training, media, and documentation services. More than 1500 volunteers mainly consisting of Mongolian university students, children’s organizations and rotary clubs members get involved in training focusing on ASEM organization, ranging from welcoming delegations at the airport and escorting participants during meetings and forums, to providing translation services and distributing handouts. Some 50 volunteers have already been deployed to support the organization of Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership Meeting (ASEP9) in April, Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) in May. Some more training is expected this June and coming July on media and public relations, conference organization and documents, security and ceremony, transportation, communication and airport and service, entertainment and food safety.
