Mongolia launches health insurance smart cards. The Mongolian government approved the regulation on consolidated online health insurance archives and the regulation on the design, content and usage of health insurance smart cards. The smart card chip will contain personal information, including blood type, allergies, medication, paid insurance premium details, treatment information and health insurance payment data. The new health insurance smart cards will make it possible for medical organizations to transfer information about their patients among themselves, as well as to regulate their service fees.
