Mongolia exported 1000 tons of meat in the first quarter of this year. Specifically, most of the exported meat was horse meat reports the Ministry of Food and Agriculture. This spring Mongolia has started to export mutton and goat meat to China. Besides China, Russia also purchases large amount of horse meat. Some 30 meat factories in Mongolia are licensed to export meat. Mongolia's meat export markets include those in China, the Russian Federation, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates with Russia and China being the main buyers of Mongolian meat in the first quarter of this year, according to the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
