The Round Table covered preparations for the 11^th Asia Europe Meeting (ASEM), to be held in Ulaanbaatar in July. Potential areas for further collaboration between Mongolia and the UK on the illegal wildlife trade were discussed at the round table. Also, the success of the UK’s Chevening scholarship scheme highlighted the growing links between Mongolia and the UK, with both sides agreeing look for further opportunities for collaborative working on culture and education. The two countries noted that the signing of the underground phase of the Oyu Tolgoi Copper mine had sent a strong, positive signal to investors and agreed to strengthen still further economic ties between the UK and Mongolia.
