Domestic supply for medical products to be supported. The government of Mongolia works to provide financial support to pharmaceutical companies to ensure that they produce at least half of the medical products used domestically. It considers that the national production of medicine and medical products is one of the options to diversify the local economy. Mongolian medical entities currently produce 17 percent of local consumption. If the government would issue the soft loan of around 30 billion MNT or $15 thousand, the local pharmaceutical capacity would be enhanced to produce up to 40 percent of the domestic demand. In view of this the Ministry of Industry has been assigned to support the local pharmaceutical industries in meeting the domestic demand and to arrange the export of Mongolian-made medical products.
