Heavy industry development plan for 2016 introduced. The Ministry of Industry presented the nation’s policy for developing heavy industry, together with introductions of major projects and programs for the near future. A target program for developing the metallurgical industry and a program for revitalizing metal casting, equipment, and the machinery industry are expected to be implemented for advancing the nation’s heavy industry sector. The main objective of the program is to ensure the provision of 30 percent of industrial raw materials from domestic entities by 2020. The main goal of the program for developing the metallurgical industry is to stop iron ore export by 2025 in order to fully and consistently provide domestic producers with raw materials for the long term.
