World Bank and Ulaanbaatar to Partner on Air Pollution Reduction

Ulaanbaatar city is set to strengthen its partnership with the World Bank to tackle air pollution and improve urban living conditions.
During a recent meeting, city officials shared plans for 24 major projects aimed at reducing pollution, easing traffic, and enhancing the overall environment in the capital. A key focus is transitioning 50,000 households in highly polluted areas to cleaner energy sources like gas and electric heating before winter. This will begin with home and building insulation. City representatives expressed interest in collaborating with the World Bank to implement these initiatives. In response, the World Bank reaffirmed its full support for the city’s environmental goals and pledged to deepen cooperation moving forward.
