Collaboration Planned with Canada to Enhance the Expertise of Secondary School English Language

Minister of Education and Science L. Enkh-Amgalan received Canada's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Mongolia Sandra Choufani. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the achievements of cooperation in the fields of education and science, as well as future cooperation. The two parties explored the opportunities for short and medium-term studies in Canada as part of the "Measures to Support English Language Learning for All" initiative, aimed to enhance the professional skills of English language teachers in secondary schools, and discussed plans to invite trainers and experts. Ambassador Sandra Choufani announced that, within the framework of the "Technical Assistance Partnership" program implemented by the Government of Canada, the above-mentioned activities can be implemented, and funding of up to USD 200,000 can be provided. Minister of Education and Science L.Enkh-Amgalan requested the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Mongolia to support the "President's Scholar - 2100," Prime Minister’s scholarships, and bachelor's programs at the world's best universities, and to collaborate on these initiatives. It was also proposed to implement a matching fund with Canada and to work together in strengthening the activities of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Centres.
