Postage Stamps Mongolists Put into Circulation

A solemn ceremony of cancellation of postage stamps issued on the theme "Mongolists" took place in the Chinggis Khaan Museum. First time five personalized stamps dedicated to the first International Congress of Mongolists were issued in 1959. This time the stamps depict the famous Mongolian educator, scientist Tseveen Jamsran, Mongolist, Academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences Boris Yakovlevich Vladimirtsov, American Orientalist, Professor Owen Lattimore, famous German Mongolist of Austrian origin Professor Walther Heissig, Japanese Mongolist Shigeo Ozawa, Italian historian, and philologist Mongolist Igor de Rachewiltz. Artist, designer, International Association for Mongol Studies, Chinggis Khaan Museum, and other scientists worked together to create the stamps.
