The government has defined the tourism sector as a priority of the economy and announced 2023-2025 as the "Years to Visit Mongolia". In this regard, the "Student Police" program has been launched in order to create safe travel conditions for domestic and foreign tourists. Now in its ninth year, the program will be organized through August 21. One hundred fifty students from 21 universities were selected for the program. Student polices will prevent crime and violations in tourist areas. It is also responsible for providing them with support, advice, and prompt delivery of necessary information about venues, service spots, and locations related to tourism activities. Student polices will patrol four hours a day, from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00 in two shifts, and the hourly wage has increased from previous years. This year, student polices on duty in the central area are provided with bicycles, scooters, and translation devices in numerous languages. In addition, a two-day training for student polices was organized to provide knowledge and skills to patrol streets, squares, and public places where foreigners and tourists pass through and ensure their safety.
