The International Day for Biological Diversity is to be celebrated from the 16th to 22nd of this month. The Ministry of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia is to hold serial conventions from Tuesday to Friday this week, and celebrate the International Day for Biological Diversity on Monday, next week. During the serial conventions, the Ministry is organizing a “Biodiversity exhibition”, including photo exhibition of plants, photo exhibition from the World Nature Foundation and Wildlife Science and Conservation Center of Mongolia and an entomology exhibition of variety of insects. During the conventions, mobile applications such as “Let’s go to the suburbs” and “Nature” are to be demonstrated. While there is a growing recognition that biological diversity is a global asset of tremendous value to future generations, the number of species is being significantly reduced by certain human activities. Given the importance of public education and awareness about this issue, the UN decided to celebrate the International Day for Biological Diversity annually. To mark this incredible and historic achievement, the proposal for this year’s theme is: “From Agreement to Action: Build Back Biodiversity”.
