Minister of Education and Science and other officials are on an official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany to learn from the country’s experiences as Mongolia is to make legislative reform in higher education and technical and vocational education training. On the first day of the visit, the Minister and officials visited the Embassy of Mongolia in Berlin, Germany, and met with students studying and serving apprenticeships in Germany and representatives from the companies where the students are interning. Minister of Education and Science, on behalf of the Government of Mongolia, expressed his gratitude to the employers who attended the meeting for supporting Mongolian students in Germany and improving their professional skills. The German vocational education and training system, known as the dual training scheme, is recognized worldwide due to its combination of theory and training embedded in a real-life work environment. The revised Draft Law on Higher Education and Technical and Vocational Education Training has reflected the dual training scheme to enhance the education system of Mongolia. The “Tuvd Agency”, which operates in vocational education, training, and skill development programs, has connected over 200 students seeking vocational education and skill development with employers and training institutions in Germany since 2017. Also, the Agency organizes courses on language, social interaction, and adaptation.
