D-Parliament Gives Opportunity to Increase Participation in Decision-Making

Chairman of the State Great Khural G. Zandanshatar introduced the use, importance and development of the D-Parliament digital platform to the academics, staff and students of the University of Internal Affairs and exchanged opinions. On the eve of the one-year anniversary of the introduction of the platform, the Chairman of the State Great Khural noted that he is meeting with future law enforcement officers who have been recognized for their skills and ethics. He expressed his confidence that the staff of the university would make a valuable contribution to further spread the use of the D-Parliament digital system, which aims to reflect the opinions of the public in the legislative process, to give their voice in making policies and decisions that are in the interests of the citizens, and to ensure the right of the people to govern. At present, the D-Parliament platform hosts a total of 170 draft laws that have been submitted or are under discussion, and have been accessed from 81 countries. Speaker of the Parliament G. Zandanshatar emphasized that this electronic system gives an advanced opportunity to increase people’s participation at the stage of discussion and decision-making in the Parliament by raising any social issue with the use of technology development. The representatives of the University expressed their views on the draft Law on the Legal Status of Whistleblowers, the draft Law on Regulating Public and Private Interests in Public Service and Preventing Conflicts of Interest.
