Mongolia-Austria Intergovernmental Commission Holds Meeting
The 8th Meeting of the Mongolia-Austria Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation took place in Vienna last week.
The 8th Meeting of the Mongolia-Austria Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation took place in Vienna last week. The Meeting was co-chaired by the Minister of Digital Development and Communications of Mongolia and the Director General for Foreign Economic Relations of the Federal Ministry for Labour and Economy of Austria. During the Meeting, the parties discussed further cooperation opportunities in the fields of digital development, mining, finance, agriculture, environment, transportation, and urban development. Reaffirming the wide range of possibilities to exchange experiences on developing digital governance by applying advanced communication technologies and solutions, the parties agreed to focus on ensuring direct relations between relevant organizations of the two countries. On the sideline of the Meeting, Mongolia-Austria Business Forum was held. In this Forum, 10 Mongolian and 40 Austrian companies participated and introduced their projects. In particular, the Mongolian side introduced their projects such as “New Zuun Mod” and “High-Speed Internet Access in Ger District”. The Meeting resulted in the signing of a new General Intergovernmental Agreement on Financial Cooperation between Mongolia and Austria. The Agreement will facilitate access to concessional loans and grants for implementing joint projects that contribute to social and economic development. In addition, the parties agreed to finalize the Agreements on “Establishing National Network for Cancer Prevention and Early Detection” and on “Renewing the Equipment of MNUMS and Hospitals of Mongolia” in near future.
